About this route

This out and back ride follows the BNSF Railroad tracks for most of the ride. We start at Greenland Open Space (I-25, Exit 167) and head south to Palmer Lake. The two-track turns to the hard packed, soft-surface travel in Palmer Lake. The Santa Fe Trail is a popular trail among the residents of Palmer Lake and surrounding residents in Monument and Colorado Springs.

The turn-around point, at University Village, has an abundance of food and beverage options to include Starbucks, Tokyo Joe’s, Panera Bread and Over Easy Eatery to name a few. The entire list is found here.
